Speaking of Food
Four hapless Australians are dragging themselves through the streets of Tokyo, bedraggled, jetlagged and spaced out. They got off their plane less than 36 hours ago, and have no clue where they are or what they're doing there. First timers in the Land Of The Rising Sun, they have been gobsmacked by the sights and lights of Tokyo City: the traffic is quiet, almost inaudible, the people are polite, respectful and line up to wait their turn, and the streets are immaculately clean and tidy. You could sit down on the ground and eat your dinner off the pavement, provided you use chopsticks. All this immaculate organisation, efficiency and polished civilisation has evidently gotten too much for them to handle, and, in the total absence of any good old Australian road rage, rubbish chucked out of windows, or random and pointless vandalism, they have, as inexorably as flies are drawn to a turd, gravitated towards the red light district of Shinjuku, the seedy part of town which e...
